Doris "Dot" Wolff

September 7, 1930 ~ August 11, 2019

Doris Edeline “Dot” Wolff was born Sept. 7, 1930 in Covington, Oklahoma to Edder Buntzan and Sara M. Shaffer. At a very young age, Sara and Dot moved to Kansas and Sara married Oscar Kucera. Oscar adopted Doris and became Doris Kucera throughout her school years. Dot attended Caldwell Schools and graduated from CHS in the Class of 1948.

On November 14, 1948, Dot was united in marriage to Lewis Edward “Buster” Wolff. They made their home on the farm west of Caldwell until Buster’s passing on Oct. 23, 1985. Dot then moved into Caldwell at her little house on West Ave. A. Dot met Jack Mardis and the two spent many years traveling around and going to Arizona or maybe into Mexico for the winters until Jack passed away.

Dot was always ready for a mean game of pitch or Mexican train dominoes at the Senior Center.

In September 2018 Dot entered the Conway Springs Nursing Home where she passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019.

Dot is survived by two nephews: Kevin LeCounte of Caldwell, KS and Kenneth LeCounte of Lawrence, KS. and many other cousins, relatives and friends.

Memorials may be given to the Caldwell Senior Center or to the Sumner County Hospital District #1 and may be left in care of the Mortuary.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Schaeffer Mortuary Chapel, Caldwell, Kansas.
