I have been thinking about this for two days and not sure that I can explain this plainly! Ernie Cink passed away to be with his lovely wife Freda. When Ernie had his stroke Ernie was the only one that cut Jimmy and Steven's hair Chris had a very few haircuts. If they wanted lines Ernie did it! Always talked Caldwell sports and pulled gum out of their ear they loved him. After a lot of explaining they allowed someone else to cut their hair. Every time they saw Ernie they spoke with sadness. First Christmas after his stroke we Went to Carol at his house all 3 left in tears! What an impact he has had on their lives!

I remember Ernie cutting my hair as a child, and when I was in college being one of few barbers that would/could give me a high and tight flat-top. He was a great part of the Caldwell community!

Ernie is and has been one of my favorite Caldwellites for many years. He brought laughter and amazement to soooooo many kids in his chair including my son Ryan, he loved going there especially when he went with Grandpa Ben. May he rest in PEACE and may he and Freda be dancin a jig together in heaven.

Remembering Ernie
Glynda - 10/07/2016
Many thoughts of Ernie include his gentle soul & smile. That is what I remember when Denny & I went to hospital in Wichita to see Ernie when he had his life altered years ago. He smiled at us & continued to smile throughtout the years as we would visit with him. Ernie was also a good friend to both of us & special memories for Denny playing basketball with him at the Radars years ago. May Ernie be dancing in heaven with Freda & smiling that beauitful smile. What a great person. Always a kind word and smile. I never got a haircut at the barber shop but any time he saw me going by there or his house he would stop me and we'd have a good chat. Prayers for you and your family Jay.

Uncle Earnie - will always remember how he liked to tease us, was always genuinely interested in how high school sports were going, had a wonderful laugh, a never ending smile, and a kind heart. I'll never forget the last time we visited before his stroke how he reached out and engaged with my dad (who usually kept to himself), and got him off the couch to come out and help him BBQ in his usual light hearted manner. Our thoughts are with you and your family.
