Glenn Edward Teel was born Nov. 19, 1923 in Caldwell, KS to Glenn Albert and Ethel Barbara (Werneke) Teel. He graduated from Caldwell High School in the Class of 1941.
While in his first year of college, Glenn was inducted into the U.S. Naval Service. He served in World War II from May 9, 1942 to Oct. 4, 1945 being Honorably Discharged as a Yeoman Second Class.
On January 14, 1943, Glenn was united in marriage to Wilma Zech. She preceded Glenn in death on Dec. 19, 1989.
Glenn worked for his father at Teel’s grocery store and later for Sunshine Biscuit and Sta-Krisp potato chip companies. After retiring, he went back to work in the grocery business working for Karl Willey.
After Wilma’s death, Glenn moved to the Kansas Veteran’s Home in Winfield. He passed away at William Newton Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, his 92nd birthday.
Glenn is survived by his nephew, Glenn Cadek of Caldwell, other relatives and friends.
Following Glenn’s wishes, his cremains will be interred next to his wife in Caldwell City Cemetery with no services being held.
