Hannah May Newberry, born on February 28, 2003, left this world far too soon on October 6, 2024. Though her life was tragically cut short, her spirit, zest for life, and unwavering love touched everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Hannah was not just a statistic in the battle against domestic violence, she was the rock of her family and a beacon of strength and compassion.
Hannah overcame many challenges throughout her life, embodying resilience and grace. She channeled that strength into her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA), starting her healthcare career at the age of 16. Her calling to care for others was evident in the warmth of her smile, the gentleness of her touch, and the empathy she extended to her patients. She made a profound difference in the lives of so many, both patients and colleagues alike.
One of Hannah’s greatest passions was travel, and she embraced every opportunity to explore new places. Her dream vacation was to visit Alaska, and no one doubted that she would make it there soon. As a traveling CMA, she made lasting friendships at every stop, her love of adventure always shining through. Hannah’s adventurous spirit didn’t stop there—she had plans to learn how to ride a motorcycle and obtain her license, always seeking new ways to embrace life.
Hannah was the glue that held her siblings together. She was the one who always reached out, made plans, and kept the family close. Recently, she was starting fresh in a new apartment, ready to write a new chapter of her life. She was excited about the future and excited to have her brother Michael living with her in Wichita, and that they would be minutes away from their sister Mariah. Hannah had already begun trying to convince her sister Brittany to move closer as well.
Her beautiful, kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who know her. She leaves behind her siblings Mariah, Brittany, and Michael Newberry, her parents David Stichler and Tarren Quest, grandparents Dan and Sherri Newberry, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and countless friends whose lives she touched. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love and care will endure.
While her family and friends will grieve her absence every day, they are forever grateful for the memories and the profound impact she had on their world.
Following cremation, memorial services will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Schaeffer Mortuary in Hannah’s name to assist with expenses.
