Janet Carol (Mayo) Misak was born on July 24, 1934 on a farm near Bluff City, KS to Claude and Wilma (Baker) Mayo. She attended Bluff City Schools, graduating in 1952. She then attended the Wesley Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1955.
On September 4, 1955 she married Carl Misak in the Bluff City United Methodist Church. They were blessed with three children: Ronald Eugene, Robert Eugene and Carol Jean (Misak) Quinn. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Janet was a long time Tulsa Vo-Tech instructor, passing on her baking skills and love of cooking to students before retiring in 1996. She had a life-long passion for birds, especially hummingbirds and cardinals.
She passed away on August 6, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Carl of 67 years, sons Ronald (Kathleen) Misak and Robert (Kathy) Misak, daughter Carol Quinn, five grandchildren: Aaron, Christine, Tarra, Elizibeth, and Evan, seven great grandchildren: Bailey, Henry, Cooper, Jolene, Thomas, Bryce and Anthony. Additionally, she leaves her sister Treva and brother-in-law Al Medlam, niece Sandy and nephew Jon.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bluff City, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarehouse Hospice, 7617 S. Mingo Rd, Tulsa, OK 74133, and sent in care of the mortuary.
Visitation will be held 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday – Friday.
