John (Jack) Elroy Casto, 76, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 in Caldwell, Kansas. He was born in Wendell, Idaho in 1942 to John Elroy and Leatha Louise (Huffman) Casto. Jack served in the U.S. Army. After serving in the Army, he was a truck driver, a machinist, and auctioneer and a welder. Jack also served on the Sumner County Sheriff’s department for a number of years. His interest was fishing, metal detecting and motorcycling.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and seven sisters.
Survivors include his wife Mickey (Ferguson) Casto; a sister Nora Durfee of Mt. Hope, Idaho; children Rochelle Frasier of Batesville, AR, Thomasina and Herb Hutchinson of Mesa, AZ, Leatha and Joshua Crews of Enid, OK, Natisha and Sergio Medrano of Oklahoma City, OK, David and Terri Ferguson of Caldwell, KS, Debra Robinson of Caldwell, KS, Larry and Jackie Ferguson of Wellington, KS, Joyce and Mark Clark of South Haven, KS; 26 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday December 30, 2018 at the New Fair Building in Caldwell, KS. A covered dish would be greatly appreciated. All are welcome to come and share a prayer or a memory with family and friends.
Memorials may be given in memory of Jack to Schaeffer Mortuary to help with funeral expense and left or mailed to Schaeffer Mortuary, 6 N. Main, Caldwell, Kansas 67022.
