On May 15, 2024, at age 86, John Paul Webster Sr. rejoined his beloved “Beth," passing away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
John was born in Wichita, Kansas on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1937 to his parents, Harry Ernest and Mary Elizabeth Webster. John's mother Mary Elizabeth, moved the family in 1939 to Caldwell, Kansas where he and several of his brothers and sisters grew up. He graduated with the Caldwell High School Class of 1956. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Pierce, daughter of Aubra H. and Frances L. Pierce.
He loved his retail career, spending it in store management, starting in the early days of Walmart, and for the next 25 years devoted his work in developing future leaders for the company and opening many stores across the South and Midwest.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Webster and his 10 brothers and sisters and 3 grandchildren.
John Paul Sr. is survived by his 4 children, John P. and wife Ginny Webster, Richard P. and wife Donna Webster, Kathy and husband David Haigler, and Amy and husband Sean Duncan. He always loved and supported his children including his 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Caldwell City Cemetery, Caldwell, KS with Dr. Matt Johnson officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Caldwell High School Alumni Association, where he played football and enjoyed many other sports, and sent in care of the mortuary.
