Kevin Ray Orton was born August 25th, 1964 to parents Cecil and Donna Orton. He was an older brother to Kelly Orton and his wife, Tyann, husband to Darlene Kelly-Orton, and proud father to three children, Nathen (Megan) Orton, Nick Orton, and Mel (Josh) Salisbury. It's to their children he owed a great deal of happiness as their grandpa/pop-pop. Mick Gaines, Cora Orton, Max Salisbury, Milo Salisbury, and Josie Salisbury were his grandkids and all he ever wanted to talk about. Kevin also had 3 step-children, Christina (Chris) Hurst, DJ (Arley) Gering, Heather Gering, and 2 step-grandkids, Declan and Finnegan Hurst.
Kevin worked as an auto mechanic most of his life, until complications due to a stroke made working under the hood an impossible task. He enjoyed shooting darts in his free time, but his real love was in music. To pick a favorite song or band would depend on the day, as he consistently listened to new music on a forever rotating schedule.
Kevin was an incredibly approachable guy who could hold a conversation with anyone. Even just one brief exchange would confirm an individual who is both charming and charismatic. He had a certain way of making everyone smile, and anyone reading this who knew him, will know exactly what is being said.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Schaeffer Mortuary in Caldwell, Kansas with Dr. Matt Johnson officiating.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA, 22116-7023 or sent in care of the mortuary.
