Linda Kay Newkirk began her life in heaven on the 3rd of August 2016. She was born June 19, 1947 to James and Helen (Allen) Buresh at Caldwell, Kansas. Linda was a 1965 graduate of Caldwell High School. She continued her education at Pittsburg State graduating in 1969 with a B.S. in Education.
Linda and Jess Newkirk were united in marriage December 17, 1967, at the First Presbyterian Church In Caldwell, Kansas. To this union two sons were born, Tim and Brad.
Her passion was her family and teaching. She spent time as a special education teacher, working in the family restaurants and then found her dream job working as the executive director at the Alzheimer's Association.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen Buresh and her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Joe Ehlers.
She is survived by her husband Jess Newkirk, son Tim Newkirk and his wife Tanya, son Brad Newkirk and his wife Becky, 7 grandchildren and her brother James Allen Buresh and his wife Vonette.
Memorials may be given in memory of Linda, to the Greater Missouri Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association and left in care of the mortuary.
A memorial graveside will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Czechoslovakian Cemetery, Caldwell, Kansas.

Our sincere condolences to Jess and the family, to Linda's nieces and nephews and to James Allen and Vonette. It seems not long ago that we were kids together. Time passes, we all come and go but the family remains. Now my cousin lives on in the memories of those who knew and loved her. Rest in Peace, Linda.
