Elsie Lucille (Cash) Wolff entered this life as the first of three daughters born to Otto Jayc Cash and Alta Grace (Terry) Cash on September 11, 1931 in Caldwell, Kansas. The family soon welcomed another baby girl Louise and were joined by Lottie 6 years later. Lucille Wolff peacefully departed her home on earth on July 18, 2023, at the Enterprise Estates Nursing Center in Enterprise, Kansas, after a long struggle with dementia
Lucille attended the Caldwell Schools and graduated Caldwell High School in 1949. She attended Business College in Wichita after graduation.
She married Harold Dean Wolff on January 14, 1951 in Caldwell. After 50 years of marriage, Harold passed away in 2001. They welcomed their only child, Greg Eugene, on a very hot July day in 1954. Greg was the light of her life. Especially as she grew older, a lot of her conversations started with or include “My Kid”.
Lucille loved Caldwell. She started her married life working at Shoffner Motors. In September of 1958, she began working at The Stock Exchange Bank in Caldwell, retiring in January 1997. She served as City Treasurer for over 50 years. She also had numerous extra bookkeeping jobs through the years.
Lucille loved family. She and Louise were always close and after retirement were “the walkers” walking up to 3 miles a day!
Being Mom and Grandma Lucille, brought her great joy. She was finally able to welcome a daughter and granddaughters with each marriage of “her boys”.
She NEVER tired of talking about or bragging on her grandsons, Nick and Matt. There are great memories of Grandma Lucille banging away on her electric organ with the boys singing along! There were also adventures such as exploring old Caldwell along with all the kids at a reunion! Great grandchildren were an added bonus, Austin, Alyssa, and Garrett all have memories of good times with Grandma Lucille….eating a whole bag of frozen cookie dough without baking it might be one!
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sisters as well as her most loved Grandma Terry (Pal).
She is survived by her son, Greg Wolff and wife Cindy of Herington; grandsons Nick Wolff and wife Autumn of Minneapolis, KS, and Matt Wolff and wife Teresa of Lawrence, KS. Great-grandchildren Austin Wolff of Hays, KS, Alyssa Wolff of Minneapolis, KS, Garrett Wolff of Lawrence, KS, and brother-in-law, Gary McGregor of Caldwell. She is also survived by a large number of nieces and nephews, friends, and special friends and care givers in Enterprise.
