Marilyn Metzinger


Marilyn Frances Metzinger was born on March 30, 1924 in Clyde, Oklahoma to Anthony and Veronica (Ronck) Weber.


Marilyn attended Caldwell High School and on August 27, 1940 married Ernest Nicholas Metzinger of Caldwell. Together they raised 5 children Roger, Gary, Janet, Leon & Ron on a farm 6 miles west of Caldwell.


Marilyn was a loving housewife, proficient piano musician, member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, served as president of the Altar Society and worked at Sumner County District Hospital.


Marilyn passed away on February 7, 2022 at the Catholic Care Center in Bel Aire, Kansas at the age of 97.


She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, son Roger, granddaughter Gretchen Metzinger Bell and grandson Isaac LacKamp.


She is survived by her children, Gary and his wife Penny of Chester, Virginia, Janet and her husband Dr. Robert LacKamp of St Joseph, Missouri, Leon and his wife Cathy of Wichita, Kansas and Ron and his wife Mary of Wichita, Kansas, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.


Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 12th with Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. both at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Caldwell.


Memorials may be made to St. Martin’s or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and sent in care of the mortuary.
