February 23, 1959 ~ August 9, 2018
Michael Alan Rohrbaugh, the third of four children, was born on February 23,1959 to Charles Ross and Mary Louise Rohrbaugh in Caldwell, Kansas. Mike passed away August 9, 2018 at the age of 59.
Growing up you could always find him at Fall Creek dam, cruising main street in his Firebird, or riding his Honda Seca 750 motorcycle. Mike attended all twelve years at Caldwell graduating with the class of ’77. It was no secret how competitive Mike was, he loved telling his family stories of his days playing football. Last week at the pedal pull he was overheard telling his granddaughter, “You know second place is first loser”
After graduating from Caldwell, Mike started his career with John Deere. He especially enjoyed his 18 years at Massey Melton. Mike then moved to Blackwell Equipment after Massey Melton closed. He loved working with the farmers and his competitiveness always made him strive to give the customer the best service around.
Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Later in life he enjoyed sharing his passion for the outdoors with his kids and grandkids. Everyone that knew him knew he loved the Kansas Jayhawks, his favorite time of year was basketball season.
Mike married Dana Lowe on July 31, 1982 in Caldwell, Kansas. To this union two children were born, Courtney Dawn and Whitney David. Mike and Dana divorced in 1993. Mike later married Tonya Gibson until their divorce. Mike thought of himself as quite the ladies man until May 6, 2017 when he finally had enough nerve to introduce himself to Lola Patton. The two were engaged on October 9th and planned to be wed the following October. It was a once in a lifetime love.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mary Lou. He is survived by his fiancé Lola Patton of Caldwell, daughter Courtney Rohrbaugh and Michael Newell of Caldwell, son Whitney & Verna Rohrbaugh of Caldwell, sister and brother-in-law Valorie & Gaylen Reedy of Caldwell, brother Greg Rohrbaugh of Oklahoma City, sister and brother-in-law Cindy Moss and David of Derby, grandchildren Miles & Ava Newell, Emma & Cody Rohrbaugh, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
