Norma Dean Hudson Kubik, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Seneca Nursing Home in Verona, Pennsylvania. Norma was born in Caldwell Kansas on April 11, 1930 the daughter of Tula Funderburk Hudson and Hugh Taylor Hudson.
She married Ralph Eugene Kubik on February 5, 1950 at her parent’s home.
Norma Kubik graduated from Caldwell High School and attended secretarial school in Wichita, Kansas. She worked in various corporations and was the Baxter County Representative for Arkansas Travel and Tourism.
She also enjoyed numerous hobbies including gardening, needlepoint and sewing. One of Norma’s greatest gifts was creating beautiful decorative quilts for her family and friends. She was also an avid reader and developed her love of reading while borrowing books from the Caldwell Public Library.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her brother, Howard Hudson; her sister-in-law, Juanita Hudson; and two nephews, Danny Hudson and Kelly Hudson.
Norma is survived by her brother, Fred Hudson; and her sister-in-law, Darlene Lowry, both of Caldwell, KS. Norma is also survived by her three daughters, Carolyn Kubik (Steele Filipek) of Pittsburgh, PA; Kathie (Merlyn) Otto of Wesley Chapel, FL; and Lisa (William) Lauer of Greensburg, PA. Norma has 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Czechoslovakian Cemetery in Caldwell, KS.
Memorials may be made to the Caldwell Public Library and sent in care of the mortuary.
