Robert L. Kalbfleisch


June 9, 1927 ~ September 30, 2018


Robert "Bobby" Lee Kalbfleisch, 91, of Wichita, KS passed away on Sunday, Sept 30, 2018 at Reeds Cove Health and Rehab, Wichita, Kansas.


Robert was born on June 9th, 1927 in Caldwell, KS to Harve and Pearl (Snowden) Kalbfleisch. He spent his childhood in Caldwell and graduated with the Class of 1946. Before graduating, at the age of 17, he served his country in the U.S Navy.


After graduating he moved to Wichita where he was employed by Boeing Aircraft. There he met his wife, Josephine Lancaster and became an instant family as he adopted her son, Michael. His work at Boeing later took them to Seattle, Washington. After leaving Boeing he became an entrepreneur owning his own gas station and strawberry farm in Puyallup, Washington. He enjoyed his life as a strawberry farmer until retiring at the age of 78. Upon retiring he moved back to his roots to be closer to his family in Kansas.


Robert is survived by his daughter-in-law Lora Kalbfleisch of Hayden, Idaho, granddaughter Michele McIntire and husband Ryan of Hayden, Idaho, two great grandchildren, his niece Sharon and husband Richard Byers of South Haven, KS, his nephew Larry and wife Nadine Kalbfleisch of Hollister, Missouri and numerous great nieces and nephews.


He is preceded in death by his parents Harve and Pearl Kalbfleisch, wife Josephine Lancaster Kalbfleisch, son Michael Kalbfleisch, brother Vernon Kalbfleisch, sister-in-law Arlene Kalbfleisch and sisters Cecil Payne, Merle Kalbfleisch and LaVeta Reck.


Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Caldwell City Cemetery, Caldwell, Kansas.


In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with TFI Family Services, a foster care agency dedicated to helping foster children in need of protection, love and support.
