Ronald Dean Rowe of Caldwell, KS, a man of deep love, commitment, and honesty, passed away November 23, 2024, at the age of 71. Ron was born July 30, 1953, in Winfield, KS to Clarence and Delberta (Tredway) Rowe. Ron grew up in Oxford, KS with his three brothers and sister. He graduated high school with the Oxford High class of 1971. He also attended Southwestern College. On November 22, 1975, he was united in marriage with Sherlene (Glenn) Gaddie. They celebrated 49 years of marriage and partnership the day before his passing.
Ron was gifted in many trades and worked at several local businesses through the years always ensuring that the service he offered was honest and customer centered. A few of the businesses that benefited from Ron’s skills were Mobilevilla Trailer Factory, Sunflower, Massey-Melton, Countryside Motors, and Bob Hurley Motors (now) Skyway CDJR of Ponca City. He and Sherlene also owned and operated The Caldwell Bowling Alley from 1988 until 2001. It was a community hub for both recreation and friendship.
Ron was a man of great patience. He was the family’s baby whisperer, grower of tomatoes, and a veracious reader. He was a devoted father to sons Doug and Ben. His love for his sons was unmatched. His role as grandfather to Rikki, Kodi, Isabella, and Grady was one he lived out with great love. Ron was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews. When his name is brought up among friends, it is a unanimous agreement that Ron was a truly great man. Ron was an active leader and member of Central Christian Church in Caldwell. He was also involved in the Caldwell Golf Board and the Border Queen Cruisers.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gary Rowe, David Rowe, and Don Rowe. His beloved son Douglas Gaddie. And nephews Zachary Stover and Steven Glenn.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sherlene Rowe. Son, Ben Rowe and his wife Carrie. Four grandchildren Rikki Winton, Kodi Gaddie, Isabella Rowe, and Grady Rowe. His sister, Lou Ann Potucek and sisters-in-law Ruby Rowe and Betty Rowe. Brother-in-law, Steve Glenn and his wife Gayle, sister-in-law, Becca Dixon and her husband Mike, and brother-in-law Gary Bickel and wife Virginia. And many loved nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Central Christian Church in Caldwell, Kansas. Please dress in casual clothes, as that is what Ron would like.
Memorials may be made to the Caldwell Golf Club or to the Border Queen Cruisers and sent in care of the mortuary.
